When I was young, my parents always told me that I should never talk to strangers. They told me I should never take food or candy from strangers, never get in a car with strangers, and so on.

But how could we make new friends if we were like that. We'd never get a job. We would never have the joy coming from talking with strangers.

And then, how can we break the ice?

Don't just look at your shoes. Go and say “Hi” to the person before you. It will be easier to break the ice if you know more about different cultures.
