One Saturday morning, Jimmy got up very early. He ran into the kitchen and ate breakfast with his mom. After they finished, Jimmy went to the door.

“What will you do?” asked Mom.

“I will play on the swing,” said Jimmy.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea,” said Mom. “It’s raining.”

Jimmy went to the window and looked out. The swing was wet. He sighed(嘆氣) and went to the kitchen again.

“I don’t like it when it rains,” said Jimmy. “I want to play outside.”

“You can play outside tomorrow,” said Mom.

“How can I get to tomorrow? Can I run to tomorrow now? I go really fast when I run,” asked Jimmy.

“I don’t think that will work,” said Mom. “Time goes in a certain rhythm(某種規(guī)律). You can’t change it. But when you have a lot to do, time seems to go fast.”

“What can I do?” asked Jimmy.

“Why don’t you call Mack?” asked Mom. “Maybe he can play with you.”

Jimmy called Mack and he arrived in minutes.

First Jimmy and Mack played computer games and watched TV in the living room. After that, they went to Jimmy’s room and made a model plane together. Soon, it was time for Mack to go home.

The rain stopped at about 6：00 p．m., and Jimmy went out with his mom to have dinner in a new restaurant. On their way home, Mom asked Jimmy, “Did you have a good day?”

“Yes, it went fast,” said Jimmy happily.
