If you watch the sky for about an hour after the sun goes down, you may see some “moving stars”. But they’re not real stars. They’re man-made satellites(人造衛(wèi)星). And the biggest of all is the International Space Station (ISS). From May to July is the best season to watch the ISS flying over the earth. And people can see it with their eyes.

The ISS is the biggest satellite and scientists want to live on it. They think that the best way to learn more about space is to live there.

When the space station is finished, it will be like a city in space. People will stay and study there with many of the things they have at home. Laboratories, living rooms and power stations are being built. The ISS is the most expensive space program. Billions of dollars are being spent on it every year.

Scientists hope that the ISS will be a stepping stone for future space exploration(探測). “The ISS will help us understand the human body better, explore space and study the earth. It can help us make life on the earth better,” said Kathryn Clark, an ISS scientist.

Sixteen countries are part of the program: the US, Russia, Canada, Japan, Brazil and 11 European countries. China isn’t an ISS country, but it has helped with some of the experiments. In 2003, China sent some rice up to the ISS to find out what space would do to it.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,選擇最佳答案。

According to a new report, Americans drink more soda (蘇打) than ever before. Do your parents ever try to limit how much soda you drink? Do they say drinking too much isn’t good for you?

Right now, in New York, Mayor (市長) Michael Bloomberg also limits how much soda you can have — and it is not only for you but also for adults! Starting in March, 2013, places like movie theaters, restaurants and sports centers, can’t sell sodas larger than 473 ml. Sellers who break the ban (禁令) will face a $200 fine. But you can still get whatever size you want at supermarkets.

Why is drinking too much soda unhealthy for you? A study shows that for every soda a child drinks every day, their obesity (肥胖) risk appears to jump 60%. In New York, more than half of adults and nearly 40% of children are overweight. Obesity kills thousands of New Yorkers every year and the city spends as much as $4 billion a year on medical care for overweight and obese people.

New York has a population of about 8 million. Of course, it’s impossible for all New Yorkers to agree on the ban. There are different opinions. Keith Aiken believes the ban can help fight teen’s obesity. “Clearly, soda causes teens obesity. We have to do something.” he says. Chuck Kallenbach doesn’t think the ban can work. He says, “I can’t buy a large cup of soda, but I can buy two small cups.” Michael Tansini says, “Whatever size cup I want is my own business. No one should limit it!”
