聘     任
西奧先生身材修長(zhǎng),面龐消瘦,兩鬢斑白.他生性溫和,平日沉默寡言.研究學(xué)術(shù)問(wèn)題,他精力充沛,記憶力驚人,而對(duì)日常生活的瑣碎小事,卻不甚了了.
坎福特大學(xué)需要聘任一名工作人員，上百人申請(qǐng)這個(gè)空缺位置，西奧也遞上了申請(qǐng)書(shū)。最后只有西奧等15人獲得面試的機(jī)會(huì)，坎福特大學(xué)地處一個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)上，周?chē)挥幸患衣灭^，由于住客驟增，單人房間只好兩人同住。和西奧同住的一位年輕人，叫亞當(dāng)斯，足足比西奧年輕20歲，亞當(dāng)斯自信心很強(qiáng)，且有一副洪亮的嗓音，旅客里時(shí)�？梢月�(tīng)到他朗朗的笑聲。顯而易見(jiàn)，這是一個(gè)聰明伶俐的人。
