【題目】Do you know how to play a game called "Musical Chairs"? It is easy to play and most people enjoy it. All you need are some chairs, some people and some way of making music. You may use a piano or any other musical instrument, if someone can play it. You may use a tape recorder. You can even use a radio.

Put the chairs in a row. The chairs may be put in twos, back to back. A better way is to have the chairs in one row with each chair facing in the opposite direction to the chair next to it.

The game is easy. When the music starts, the players walk round the chairs. Everyone goes in the same direction of course, they should walk in time to the music. If the music is fast they should walk quickly. If the music is slow, they should walk slowly.

The person playing music cannot see the people in the game. When the music stops, the players try to sit on the chairs. If a person cannot find a chair to sit on, he drops out. Then, before the music starts again, one chair must be taken away. When the music stops again, one more player will be out.

At last, there will be two players and one chair. The one who sits on the chair when the music stops is the winner.

【題目】More Americans prefer to get food at their local food markets. According to a new study of the University of Iowa (UI), it’s not just because these people believe the food is fresher and tastes better, but because they think they are following a kind of social duty — sharing a healthy lifestyle, helping save environment and so on.

These so-called “l(fā)ocavores (土食者)” are shopping at farmers markets and joining food coops (食品合作社), because they enjoy knowing who grows the food. They are also driven to eat locally grown produce and meat because their promise to do so makes them feel a part of something greater than themselves.

Vasi, an associate professor at the UI, said the local food market is a “moralized (道德化的) market”, and that is a market in which people combine economic activities with their values. Among the findings, the UI researchers discovered local food markets were more likely to develop in areas where local people had a strong promise to social duty, health and the environment. “It’s about valuing the relationship with the farmers and people who produce the food and believing that how they produce the food agrees with your personal values.” Vasi said.???

Vasi shared the results of the study at the American Sociology Association annual meeting in Chicago on Aug. 22, 2015. Researchers also did 40 interviews with consumers and producers in different local food markets in Iowa and New York.

【題目】When you wave to a friend, you are using body language. When you smile at someone you mean to be friendly. When you put one finger in front of your mouth, you mean “be quiet”. Yet, people in different countries may use different body languages.

Once an Englishman was in Italy. He could speak little Italian. One day while he was walking in the street, he felt hungry and went into a restaurant. When the waiter came, the Englishman opened his mouth, put his fingers into it and took them out again and moved his lips. In this way, he meant to say, “Bring me something to eat.” But the waiter brought him a lot of things to drink, first tea, then coffee and then milk, but no food.

The Englishman was sorry because he was not able to tell the waiter he was hungry. He was ready to leave the restaurant when another man came in. The man put his hands on his stomach, and this body language was good enough for the waiter. In a few minutes, the waiter brought him a large plate of bread and meat.

Finally the Englishman had his meal in the same way.

Have you ever had a travel on the train that was named after the letter D?

Named after the letter D, the new trains run at a speed of 200 to 250 kilometers an hour. 1 For example, it used to take 12 hours to travel from Shanghai to Beijing. 2 The most interesting part of the trains is the revolving (旋轉(zhuǎn)的) seats. People can adjust(調(diào)整) their seats as they like, so that it is easy for them to talk with others around them face to face.

However, many people still won’t choose D-type trains for some reasons. 3 For example, a hard seat ticket from Beijing to Tianjin is only ¥90 for T-type trains. But on the new trains, all the seats are soft. 4 On the other hand, the new trains stop at some stations for a very short time. 5

A. For example, D31 stops at Tianjin only for one minute.

B. The ticket prices of the trains are much higher.

C. And they each cost ¥153.

D. But now it only takes 10 hours.

E. They make the trips much funnier.

F. They are much faster than K-type and T-type trains.
