   Yesterday we had a rest in the afternoon as usual. After lunch, I phoned my mom in the nearby telephone booth (電話亭）,telling her that I would be back home that day. Hanging up the telephone, I was laughing and thought that mom had been fooled by me and that when I went back the next day and told the truth, she must be very happy.

I forgot the telephone soon. In the midnight, I was waken up by knocks on my door. Opening the door, I found my father standing outside. He asked, “Your mother is worried about you. Why don’t you go back?” I felt guilty and could not answer.

I wanted to tell him that yesterday was April Fool’ s Day, but I could not say a word. Having known that I was all right, my father went away without saying anything. I looked at my watch and it was 1 ：00 a. m. My home is 40 kilometers away.

That morning I went back home after work very early. My parents were still in bed. I saw there were dishes of delicious food on the table and they were still untouched. I could not help tearing cats and dogs.

I have decided not to tell my parents the truth. I will bury it deep in my heart so that it can remind me that    in the    world    not everyone can be fooled !
