For me, the biggest headache about studying online is the poor quality of my Internet connection. This almost made me mad. During one of my online classes, I couldn't hear my English teacher's voice and I had to reconnect. It wasted lots of time. Since then, I checked my network before class every day, and I asked my family members not to use the Internet while I was having a class.

Plan your time properly

I had a hard time planning my course timetable at first. Planning ahead with a study calendar is very important for effective (有效的) online learning. Creating a study calendar will help you remember important dates like online exams or deadlines (最后期限) for your tasks. Making a to-do list is also useful. These are all good ways to help us learn better online.

No distractions (分心)

Zhang Penghui, 5, Heilongjiang

Online learning needs strong self-control and willpower (意志力). There are lots of distractions while studying at home.

My mom likes to offer me snacks and drinks, which sometimes distracts me from listening during my classes. I have asked her to stop entering my room while I'm studying. A quiet room and a clean desk can help me concentrate (聚精會神).

Focus on your studies

Wang Ruixue, 14, Hebei

The Internet is new to us children in the countryside. Many online games are very attractive to me, and they may take a lot of time away. I have used a timer (計時器) to record time spent on non-course websites and limit myself to five minutes at a time. When you feel yourself losing concentration, consider taking a short break, but make sure that the time you spend on your breaks won't take too much of your study.
