Many years ago, people relied on the sun, the moon and stars to find their way around. Later, the compass (指南針) was introduced. And now, we have satnav (衛(wèi)星導(dǎo)航) systems to guide us. A satnav system uses groups of satellites to show the user’s location. They send information to a receiver, such as a smart phone, to show us where we are.
The earliest built satnav system is the Global Positioning System, which belongs to the US. Then there is Russia’s Global Navigation (導(dǎo)航) Satellite System, the European Union’s Galileo and China’s own satellite navigation system, BeiDou.
On October 14, 2017, an ARJ21-700 plane, which was the first domestically-produced jet (國產(chǎn)噴氣式飛機(jī)) equipped with the BeiDou navigation system, successfully completed a test flight. The results showed the performance of the system developed by China matches that of similar systems produced aboard, according to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China.
Since its introduction in 2000, the Beidou navigation system has seen increasing numbers of applications linked to everyday life, from shared bikes to farming.
When it comes to shared bikes, smart locks that support BeiDou chips offer more accurate positioning than others, making it easier to find a bike.
Farmers can use BeiDou-enabled tractors to plow (犁) the soil and use unmanned aircraft with BeiDou to sow seeds, which can improve efficiency and make better use of resources. BeiDou’s farming applications have spread from Heilongjiang province to Beijing, Liaoning, Shanxi, Hubei and other regions across China.
With its many uses, the Beidou navigation system is even playing a big role in the Belt and Road Initiative (一帶一路). “To date, the BeiDou system has covered most parts of the Asia-Pacific region (地區(qū)), as well as countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21stCentury Maritime Silk Road” said Yang Changfeng, Chief designer of the BeiDou system.
Today, there are more than 20 BeiDou satellites above our heads, and China plans to launch even more this year to expand the BeiDou network to better serve the Belt and Road Initiative.
“As BeiDou expands its overseas reach, it will be increasingly popular in the logistics (物流) industry,” said Miao Qianjun, secretary-general of the navigation services association. “Ships, for example, can use it to position themselves while sailing across oceans to European countries, no longer limited to Southeast Asian regions in the near future.”

If you always put off doing things you should do or would like to do, you have experienced procrastination(拖延癥).
Do you have procrastination because you are lazy? In fact, lazy people don’t do anything and are just fine with it. Procrastinators, however, want to do something but can’t force(促成) themselves to start.
There’s a goal in your brain, for example, what are the tasks to be completed today? What goals need to be achieved this year? Everything is in control.
But at the same time, your brain will also have a love of freedom, know how to enjoy yourself. Whenever you secretly make up your mind to complete a task, this “you” will give you a list of temptations. And you will fall step by step.
So if you are a procrastinator, perhaps you spend lots of time watching TV, playing video games, checking WeChat, eating, cleaning or walking back and forth through the room. Afterwards, you feel powerless and have the feeling of guilt(內(nèi)疚) and trouble.
We all have procrastination more or less. __________ For example, it took Da Vinci(達(dá)·芬奇) sixteen years to complete the smile of Mona Lisa. In the middle of the delay(拖延), he went to study and changed his idea of light and shadow.
Excellent people also need to procrastinate, so that inspiration(靈感) has more time in their heads to collide(沖突) with each other. So procrastination is not always terrible. What’s terrible is that we don’t know why we procrastinate. The best way to deal with procrastination is to really understand your heart and find out the reason why it’s not easy for you to start. Some people procrastinate to think, while others procrastinate to escape(逃避).
Do you have the habit of procrastination in your daily life? What is the reason?
1.If you are a procrastinator, you might spend much time doing many activities EXСЕРТ __________.
A.checking WeChat B.doing the task now C.walking around the room D.playing video games
2.The underlined word temptation in Paragraph 4 means “__________” in Chinese.
A.打擊 B.快樂 C.誘惑 D.計(jì)劃
3.Which of the following sentences can be put in the __________?
A.However, you are more procrastinating than those successful people.
B.Procrastination is always a good thing to everyone.
C.There are many ways to deal with procrastination.
D.Excellent people may be more procrastinating than you.
4.The writer thinks __________.
A.sometimes people need to procrastinate B.procrastinators don’t want to do meaningful tasks
C.people have procrastination because they are lazy D.procrastination always gets in the way of success
