【題目】—How much should I pay for the food, Madam?

—It costs .The food is free here. needs to pay for it.

A.none; AnyoneB.none; No oneC.nothing; EverythingD.nothing; Nobody

【答案】D

【解析】

句意:——夫人,我該付多少錢?——它什么也不花費,這里的食物是免費的,沒有人需要付費。

考查不定代詞,nothing=not anything,意為"沒有任何東西;什么也沒有",強調(diào)內(nèi)容,只能指物,泛指;none=not anynot one 一點也沒有;一個也沒有,即數(shù)量概念,既可指人,也可指物;no one=nobody 只指人,"沒有人",不能指物,anybody任何人;Everybody每個人。

Being happy is an ability, which means we need to learn how to do it. This, perhaps, explains why around one in four undergraduate students at Yale University in the US have signed up (報名) for its Psychology and the Good Life course this semester. The course actually set a record of being the most popular in Yale’s 316-year history.

Laurie Santos, the psychology professor who will be running the course, believes that the high school lives which her students must have had are the reason that the course is so popular. It’s likely that students who get into top universities like Yale had a difficult time in high school. In order to stand out, they had to surround themselves with endless tests, competitions, and so-called “hobbies”, which made them very unhappy. "A lot of us are anxious (焦慮的), stressed, numb (麻木的)," Alannah Maynez, a 19-year-old undergraduate student at Yale, told The New York Times,“and I won’t miss such a chance.”

Yale isn’t the first university to offer such courses. Back in 2006, Harvard introduced its Positive Psychology class, and about 900 students signed up for it. There are now many universities in the US that have started courses on positive psychology, including the University of Pennsylvania and Claremont Graduate University.

It may sound sad when Harvard student Nancy Cheng called Positive Psychology a “self-help class”. But it’s a good thing that students accept that they have a problem, instead of having to pretend that everything is fine in front of everyone.

It’s true that being happy is an ability, and it’s OK that you may not have it yet. However, it’s never too early—or too late—to start learning.
