【題目】 You may know about “junk food” like French fries. But do you know about “junk sleep”

The survey was done among 1,000 British kids from 12 to 16.It found that 30% of them got just 4 to 7 hours of sleep every day. But doctors say they need 8 to 9 hours.

Almost a quarter of the kids said they fell asleep more than once a week while watching TV, listening to music or using other electronic products.

“This is very worrying,” said Dr. Chris Idzikowski,a British expert,“We call it ‘junk sleep’It means you don’t get enough sleep and the quality of the sleep is bad, too. If you don’t get a good restyou don’t perform well in school the next day.”

本文講述了當(dāng)今的青少年因為電子產(chǎn)品而影響了他們的睡眠,睡眠不夠,就會影響他們第二天在學(xué)校的表現(xiàn)。

1主旨大意題。根據(jù)第一段But do you know about “junk sleep”及下文介紹了什么影響了青少年的睡眠,可知,本文主要講述的是“垃圾睡眠”。故選B

2推理判斷題。根據(jù)第三段The survey was done among 1,000 British kids from 12 to 16.It found that 30% of them got just 4 to 7 hours of sleep every day,可知,在英國1000個孩子中調(diào)查,30%的孩子每天只睡4-7小時,也就是1000*30%=300,即300個孩子每天睡4-7小時。故選B。

3細節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)We call it ‘junk sleep’It means you don’t get enough sleep and the quality of the sleep is bad, too,可知, “垃圾睡眠”意思是你沒有足夠的睡眠,睡眠的質(zhì)量也很差。根據(jù)常識,“垃圾食品”一般是指質(zhì)量比較差,對身體有害的那些食品。由此可知,“垃圾食品”和“垃圾睡眠”有個相似之處,就是都質(zhì)量低劣。故選A

4推理判斷題。根據(jù)But doctors say they need 8 to 9 hours,可知,醫(yī)生說青少年每天需要8-9個小時的睡眠,可知,A選項是錯誤的。根據(jù)Nearly all the teenagers have a cellphone,an iPad or a TV in their bedrooms,可知,幾乎所有青少年在臥室里都有電話,平板電腦或電視,所以B選項是錯誤的。根據(jù)Almost a quarter of the kids said they fell asleep more than once a week while watching TV, listening to music or using other electronic products“幾乎四分之一的孩子說,當(dāng)他們在看電視,聽音樂或用其他的電子產(chǎn)品時會不止一次睡著”,可知,青少年花費太多的時間在電子產(chǎn)品上,所以C選項是正確的。故選C。

5推理判斷題。根據(jù)Recently, a British survey found that electronic(電子的) products in teenagers’ bedrooms are affecting(影響) their sleepAlmost a quarter of the kids said they fell asleep more than once a week while watching TV, listening to music or using other electronic products,可知,青少年花費太多的時間在電子產(chǎn)品上,而直接會影響青少年的睡眠,不用任何電子產(chǎn)品在當(dāng)今高科技的時代來說是不現(xiàn)實的,所以解決這個問題的最好方法就是減少青少年使用電子產(chǎn)品的時間,每天保證足夠的睡眠。故選C。

Wikipedia's most-edited list
Do you use Wikipedia(維基百科) to find information about people, places, things and events? Have you ever wondered who writes all the information? The website is actually run by thousands of everyday people, as well as computers that can automatically update(自動更新) certain pages. You can even write something on a page if you want to.
Of course, it means that somebody can write incorrect information on a page. That does happen sometimes, but usually somebody else corrects the information quickly.
Wikipedia has counted how many times each page has been edited(編輯) this year and one page stood out.“Deaths in 2016”was edited 18,230 times. That is likely because lots of high-profile(知名度高的) people, including English singer David Bowie, American singer Prince, American boxer Muhammad Ali and former Cuban President Fidel Castro, died in 2016.
The 2016 US presidential election(總統(tǒng)選舉) was followed by people around the world. It was also a popular page to edit on Wikipedia. The “Donald Trump” page had 8,933 edits and took second spot. The third most-edited page was related(與……有關(guān))to Hillary Clinton, and the election itself took the fourth spot.
Pages about movies, sports, world events, natural disasters(災(zāi)難), musicians and artists all appeared in the top 25 most-edited list. Vincent Van Gogh's page received 3,551 edits during the year. Four Wikipedia editors rewrote the page in order to give people a clear understanding of the Dutch partner's true nature, according to one editor.
The variety of pages that were edited shows how people with entirely different interests are still all looking for information.

Humans’ Greatest Achievements
The Earth is 4.5 billion years old, but the human race has lived on it for just 200,000 years. In that short time, we have achieved some amazing things.
The list is almost endless. The invention of the airplane has changed our lives. The discovery of antibiotics (抗生素) has saved the lives of millions of people. Can you imagine living without electricity? What about the printing press (印刷術(shù))? Without the printing press, you wouldn’t be reading this. In the last 50 years, there have been great achievements in communication, such as radio, TV, computers, the Internet, and smartphones (智能手機).
What about the arts? The arts have brought pleasure to many people, but are the Beatles and Bach more important than antibiotics?
Finally, we must not forget humans' early achievements. We can't imagine modern life without cooked food and cars.
What are humans' greatest achievements? To answer the question, we need to decide what we mean by “great”. Or is it just something that makes us say “Wow,” like the Great Wall? What do you think?

A. Do you think it is difficult to have great achievements?
B. Is it something that makes us rich or happy or save lives?

B
One of my best friends went abroad to enjoy her holidays, so the job of looking after her dog Missy has been given to me. A few months ago, Missy came to my friend's house. She looked terrible. She has been abused for a long time.
When we first visited my friend and Missy, my friend had to gently pull her over on a lead (牽繩) to get her to come to us. She wanted to come but afraid to do so—the poor, beautiful thing. Clearly Missy came to the right home. My friend has given birth to a baby of his own and shows the love of a mother. This is just what Missy needs. Thanks to the love of my friend, she has changed into a new dog step by step. Sadly, she is still afraid of strange humans. I hate to imagine what the dog must have gone through.
Now, Missy trusts me completely, so I can touch her berry(肚皮).While standing, she will jump up so gently to be closer to me, putting her paws(爪子)on my legs as she looks at me with those beautiful eyes.
Missy is really brave. She has the courage to try again, to open her hearts, and to know that not everyone is the same kind of people as before. Keep it in mind that tomorrow is another day.

【題目】 Many people like to travel by plane, but I don’t like it because the airport is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off and it is often late. You can’t open the windows. You can’t choose the food. Planes are fast, but they still take hours to go out of the airport and into the city.

I like traveling by train. I think trains are safer. Railway stations are usually in cities. When you are late for a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around in the train and open the windows. You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time. I also like traveling by car. You can start your journey when you want to, and you don’t need to get to a railway station or a stop. Also you can carry many things with you in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the road.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,判斷下列句子正誤。正確的填“T”,錯誤的填“F”

1Many people like to travel by plane because they are fast.

2Travelers can’t walk around and open the windows in the train.

3Airports are usually farther from the city than railway stations.

4The writer thinks that traveling by train is much safer than by plane.

5If the writer has to take a lot of things with him, he will travel by train.
