【題目】閱讀下面的短文,然后根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。

The Oxford English Dictionary turns 90 this year. The big, fat book is a good friend of your English learning.

But do you know the story of how the famous dictionary was created over a period of 71 years?

The very first edition of the Dictionary started to be developed as an idea in the late 1850s when a group of English language experts (專家) felt the need for such an English dictionary. They wanted a dictionary which would tell the history of each word in the language, based on data (數(shù)據(jù)) showing how each word was actually used at different periods in history. This data collection was done through a London association called the Philological Society in1857.

In 1879, Oxford University Press made preparations for publishing the Dictionary, James Murray was appointed as the new editor(編輯). Murray had never been to university. He was a self-taught language expert. However, he took on a group of helpers, and the work of adding entries(條目) to the Dictionary soon got started Henry Bradley, one of Murray's helpers, was appointed as the Dictionary's second Editor in 1887. Bradley was given the task of editing a separate part of the alphabet (字母表)starting with the letter E. But as time passed, they were fully aware that not even two separate teams were enough. In 1901, William Craigie was appointed as the Dictionary's third Editor, and in 1914 Charles Onions became its fourth Editor. By the time Onions was appointed, the Dictionary was complete as far as the letter S.

It's important to note that the Dictionary didn't finish at Z. It was the letter W that was the last to be finished on April 19, 1928. That was the day on which the first edition of the Dictionary was officially completed.

【題目】 Pencil: I am sorry.

Eraser: For what? You didn’t do anything wrong.

Pencil: I’m sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I make a mistake, you’re always there to clean it up. But when you make my mistakes disappear, you also lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That’s true. But I don’t really mind. You see, I am made to do this. I am made to help you whenever you make a mistake. I know I’ll be gone one day and you’ll take my place with a new eraser. But I’m actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I don’t want to see you feeling sad.

Actually parents are like erasers and their children are like pencils. They’re always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes they get hurt along the way. They become smaller, older and even pass away after all. Though they cannot be with their children for life, parents are still happy with what they do for their children and always hope that their loved ones can be happy.

I am the pencil and the erasers are my parents. They are getting older and smaller, leaving behind eraser pieces and memories. I know that I will be the eraser one day, doing the same thing that my parents used to do for me.

We need to know how to compare the prices of things in different shops .We need to be able to compare the quality of different brands. We need to know how to make a choice when we shop.

Knowing how to make such choices is a “l(fā)ife skill”, and we need these skills if we want to live useful and happy lives. Some of these choices are small. For example, will I take an apple for lunch or a pear? Will I go to school by bus or on foot? Will I wear the red T-shirt or the blue one to the movies? Other choices are more important. For example, will I eat healthy food for lunch or will I eat junk food because it is nicer? Will I work hard in all my classes or will I only work hard in the classes I enjoy? We make choices like this every day.

We have to realize that the choices we make can influence the rest of our lives. Just as importantly, our choices can also affect other people .The next time you decide to waste time in class, play a joke on someone or talk loudly at the movies, think about this, who else does your choice affect?

【題目】 On January 27, in order to win the new pneumonia Resistance War (抗擊新型肺炎戰(zhàn)) , the Ministry of Education issued (教育部公布) a notice on putting off the start time of school in spring 2020. It was said that school should not start before March. The exact start time of school will depend on situations and further notices.

However, many parents are very worried that putting off the start of school may affect (影響) children's studies. Local education departments have also issued a notice, that is, to organize online teaching and create a network platform (平臺) , where necessary courses will be shown every day, and online teaching will be given by excellent teachers of the subject, and students can learn at home through computer or mobile network.

It should be said that such a method is very good. It can not only keep students indoors and not worry about the infection (感染) of the disease, but also make them study at home, improve their learning ability, and truly achieve "nosuspensionof classes". Both the platform itself and the recorded lesson resources are more useful, and are welcomed by parents and teachers.
