Interesting Festivals in The World |
Throwing tomatoes—Spain Spain takes “tomatoes fights” to a whole new level. But the tomatoes are being thrown, not eaten. The festival takes place during the last Wednesday in August. Trucks carry tomatoes into the square. People rush to the tomatoes and throw them into the crowd. |
Rolling cheese—England This festival is celebrated on the last Monday in May. It takes place on Cooper's Hill. A large wheel of cheese is rolled down Cooper's Hill. The festival is actually a race where people run down the hill after the rolling cheese. The first person to cross the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese. |
Burning man—The United States The Burning Man Festival lasts a week. It is from the Monday before Labor Day to Labor Day(which falls on the first Monday in September in America). The festival takes place in the Black Rock Desert. The best part of the festival is the burning of a large sculpture of a man. |

Burning man—The United States“美國(guó)火人節(jié)”以及Pouring water—Thailand“泰國(guó)的潑水節(jié)”可知,總共是4個(gè)節(jié)日,故選D。
This festival is celebrated on the last Monday in May“這個(gè)節(jié)日在五月的最后一個(gè)星期一慶!笨芍,五月可以去英國(guó)參加這個(gè)節(jié)日,故選B。
【3】細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)Burning man—The United States“美國(guó)火人節(jié)”中的The festival takes place in the Black Rock Desert“這個(gè)節(jié)日在黑石沙漠舉行”可知,美國(guó)火人節(jié)在黑石沙漠舉行,故選C。
根據(jù)But the tomatoes are being thrown, not eaten“但是,西紅柿是扔的,而不是吃的”可知,排除A;根據(jù)The best part of the festival is the burning of a large sculpture of a man“節(jié)日中最好的部分是燒一個(gè)大的人型雕像”可知,不是燒真人,排除C;根據(jù)Songkran is one of the most important reasons why foreigners travel to the beautiful land“宋干節(jié)是為什么外國(guó)人來這個(gè)美麗的陸地的最重要的原因之一”可知,不是唯一的理由,排除D;根據(jù)Rather than a single day, Thailand celebrates the New Year from April 13th to April 15th“而不是單一的一天,泰國(guó)從4月13日至4月15日慶祝他們的新年”可知,以上的節(jié)日不都是一天的慶祝時(shí)間,故選B。
A. Songkran is one of the most important reasons why foreigners travel to the beautiful land“宋干節(jié)是為什么外國(guó)人來這個(gè)美麗的陸地的最重要的原因之一”可知,是一個(gè)旅游指南,故選A。
根據(jù)關(guān)鍵詞in May可知,定位至Rolling cheese—England“英國(guó)滾奶酪比賽”中的This festival is celebrated on the last Monday in May“這個(gè)節(jié)日在五月的最后一個(gè)星期一慶!笨芍,五月可以去英國(guó)參加這個(gè)節(jié)日,故選B。

【題目】
We usually see ancient plants or insects in amber(琥珀). But recently, a group of researchers found something unusual in amber — a feathered tail!
The tail includes bones, soft tissue and even feathers. It is 37 mm long, which is about the length of a matchstick. It looks like a plant at first sight. But researchers later identified(確定) it as part of the tail of a dinosaur that couldn’t fly almost 100 million years ago.
Xing Lida of Beijing’s China University of Geosciences discovered the amber in a market in Myanmar in 2015. “It is an amazing fossil(化石) and the finest details of feathers can be seen in 3-D.” he said.
The researchers note in their paper that this finding is particularly special because, although dinosaur feathers have been found in amber before, we don’t know which dinosaurs they came from. But this time researchers know more.
The tail is likely to belong to a tiny dinosaur called coelurosaur. Famous coelurosaurs include the T-rex(霸王龍) and Velociraptor(迅猛龍) — the latter of which would finally evolve into birds.
So with the “once in a lifetime” finding, can we hope for the possibility of a real Jurassic Park (侏羅紀(jì)公園)? In the movie series, scientists bring dinosaurs back to life by getting their DNA from blood found in amber.
But Canadian scientist Ryan Mckellar said that although soft tissue and blood of the tail were found in the amber, no genetic material was kept. “The Jurassic Park answer is still a ‘no’ — this is in the science fiction.” he said.
【1】What did a group of researchers find in amber recently?
A.Ancient plants.B.A tail of some ancient birds that couldn’t fly.

【3】What does the underlined phrase “evolve into” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A.come intoB.break intoC.grow intoD.get into
【4】Why is the finding particularly special?
A.Because it is the first time that dinosaur feathers have been found in amber.
B.Because researchers know which dinosaur the tail might belong to.
C.Because researchers learned that Velociraotpors evolved into birds.
D.Because researchers learned that there were two types of coelurosaurs.
