Children’s lives have changed a lot in the past few years. But do they have a happier childhood than we did?

1. I have four brothers and sisters, and my memories are all about being with them. We used to play board games in the living room, spend days in the street with other children, race up and down on our bikes, or explore the nearby woods.2. They only appeared during meals.

These days, at least in the UK, the nature of childhood has changed. Firstly, families are smaller. It is common for both parents to work outside. 3. Another change is that children spend most of their free time at home, inside. Parents worry too much about some possible dangers, so they don’t want their children to play outside by themselves.

Finally, the kinds of toys children have and the ways they play are completely different. 4. The funny thing is that so many ways of playing games are called “ interactive (互動(dòng)的)”. The fact that you can play electronic games by yourself can increase the feeling of loneliness.

5. I can’t give an answer for sure, but perhaps every generation feels exactly the same.

There are many TV programs on Chinese food, but few are like China at Your Tongue Tips. The latest seven-part documentary offers opinions into the geographical, historical and cultural parts of what Chinese eat.

Made by Chen Xiaoqing, an award-winning documentary maker, China at Your Tongue Tips is filled with different kinds of food, which tells us the beautiful process of food-making. The program is sure to attract both food experts and ordinary audiences.

Television is filled with food programs these days, especially introductions of top cooks and close looks at the wonderful cooking processes of a feast (盛宴), but how to create dishes is only one part of food culture, according to Chen.

“The program tries to bring something new by presenting more cultural parts about dishes, like eating habits of eating.”

The surprise is that the show is not only about dishes. Every part paid attention to different people who tell stories about their adventure with food.

"As a saying, goes, 'you are what you eat','" Chen says. "Food is always connected with people. Behind the documentary, they are stories that show people's living situations and attitudes(態(tài)度). That's another part which makes it special."

To get enough good stories, the production team spent three months doing researches and interviews in about 60 cities before they started shooting in last July. Filming lasted about nine months.

China at Your Tongue Tips shows social changes while presenting food culture, such as showing the elderly are in their hometowns while other members of this family work outside. In those cases, food serves as reminders of happy times.

These people come from the poorest places of Kenya. They were beggars and workers on the farm. However, they are people with dreams and hopes. Thanks to Jamii Bora, thousands of them are realizing their dreams.

When Ingrid Munro worked in the UK she learned about the lives of the poor, so she always tried her best to help the poor. And in 1988,Munro and her Canadian husband had adopted(收養(yǎng))a homeless boy. This boy had been run over by a bus and was unable to walk freely. Munro's learning about the hard lives of the poor increased when she adopted the boy's two brothers two years later.

In 1999 she decided to start a small club in Kenya. The members would be 50 women, beggars who had been kind to children. No one imagined it could become so successful that it would change into a bank called Jamii Bora Bank. Munro did not expect that it would turn out to be such a great success. Instead of employing(雇傭) experts, she has trained those women herself. And she employs ex-beggars, the ones who joined them in the very early days and have come out of poverty. She teaches these beggars how to do everything from the beginning. What makes this bank different from others is the way they treat the borrowers. They help these poor people educate their children, and help with housing. They even teach business skills so that people can live a better life.
