Jeff Gaye, the young American swimmer, is becoming more and more famous. He has his own teacher, driver and even his own cook. Each time people hear him speak on television, they can’t believe he’s only 13. Jeff’s father is an engineer but he is also his son’s manager. He says, “I don’t make Jeff do anything he doesn’t want to do. He chooses which competition to swim in. But he works hard and wins nearly every race. I cut out all the newspaper articles about him and put them in a big box!”
Jeff is very busy every day because people want to write about him or photograph (給……拍照) him for magazines. “When I’m at school,” Jeff says, “I just want to be like my classmates. That’s really important to me.” But Jeff doesn’t have a normal schoolboy’s life. He often has to travel for international races and has little free time. “I go to the pool every day and swim there for at least six hours. When I’m in the pool, I love every minute.”

What are you going to do if you are in a burning house? How will you escape(逃脫)? Do you know how to save yourself? Please read the following passage.
Escaping a fire is a serious matter. Knowing what to do during a fire can save your life. It is important to know about the ways you can use, such as stairways or fire escapes but not lifts. And more importantly, show them to everyone in your family.
From the lower floors of the buildings, escaping through windows is possible. So learning the best way of leaving by windows with the least chance of serious injury is quite necessary.
The second floor window is usually not very high from the ground. An average(平均高度的)person, hanging by the finger-tips will have a drop of about six feet to the ground. It is about the height of an average man. Of course, it is safer to jump a short way than to stay in a burning building.
Windows are also useful when you are waiting for help. Be sure to keep the door closed. Or the smoke and fire may spread into the room. Keep your head low at the window to be sure you get the fresh air rather than the smoke that may leaked(滲)into the room.
On a second or third floor, the best windows for escape are those that open onto a roof. From the roof a person can drop to the ground more safely. Dropping onto cement(水泥)might end in injury. Bushes and grass can help to break a fall.

A. it’s not too high from the ground B. others can see you clearly and save you
C. you’re able to get the fresh air there D. sometimes the stairways cannot be used

Soela Zani is a photographer from Albania. In 1988, a quiet boy lived next door to her. Born with Down's syndrome (唐氏綜合征), the boy never spoke and seldom went outside because his parents felt shame to be seen with him.
“It was sad to see that,” Zani said. “Now, people know differently. Children with Down's syndrome are lovely. We need to accept them as they are and give them a chance to succeed in life.”
Zani wanted to do something for those lovely children, so she opened an exhibition (展覽) last year at Albania's National Historical Museum. Photos of children with Down's syndrome were shown in the exhibition. In the photos, the children are copying poses (姿勢) from famous paintings.
“When we opened the exhibition, the visitors enjoyed all the pictures. Many even started to cry in front of them. I was very touched,” Zani said. “These children are beautiful. They are pieces of art. This is my message.”
In some parts of Albania, having a child with Down's syndrome is still thought to be unlucky or shameful. But Zani has found the beauty of the children, inside and out. “There is no difference between a child with Down's syndrome and a child without it. They are the same,” Zani said. “This exhibition is a present from me to them.” Zani plans to take more photos of children with Down's syndrome and raise money for them this year.
