2．As a young man，Alan was a skilled artist with a wife and two fine sons．One night，his elder son developed a bad stomachache．Thinking it was only some common  intestinal （腸道） disorder，neither Alan nor his wife took the condition very seriously．But the boy died suddenly that night．
