【題目】 A woman in a lab coat stands in front of a group of school children. As she pours hot water into a box of liquid gas in the front of the classroom, the children cheer and clap their hands.

The woman is Kate Biberdorf. She runs a program called Fun with Chemistry which is aimed at getting children interested in science. The demonstrations(演示), such as the one she has just finished, are designed to be interesting and exciting and show children basic rules of chemistry.

In another demonstration, Biberdorf makes a fire on her hand and sets a balloon on the fire.

There are also demonstrations designed for certain festivals. For example, Biberdorf uses pumpkins on Halloween. She pours some liquid into a pumpkin. The liquid then explodes inside the pumpkin and makes holes on it. The final product is a jacko'lantern(南瓜燈) with two “eyes” and a “mouth” made by the explosion.
